There are many “extra” details on the sub-pages and the site is organized well. The blog and the recipes sections are surprisingly deep and interesting. The way they are handling their Yelp reviews is unique and effective.

It’s not easy to take 5 different businesses- some of them with multiple locations- and wrap it all up into 1 site. For that reason alone, we are giving Jilly’s the nod for our #3 spot in Ocean City. The site is solid and reasonably attractive. They did a very nice job with photos.
The Bad: The site is VERY shallow in information in some places and the page layouts couldn’t be more blocky if you were playing TETRIS.
4. Biscayne Suites

They used a great color palette (a traditional beachy/ocean blue, yellow, tan) to represent the Ocean City lifestyle and experience. They added a few very good photos, clean design, and well-presented information. Nice job.
The Bad: This is VERY nit-picky, but the gallery, the rates, the specials, etc. are presented with no additional technology, features, or programming which would have made this site not just good, but spectacular.

Choosing the worst websites in a town is a lot of fun. It’s like watching a bloopers show. Ocean City New Jersey didn’t disappoint. While the good sites in town are excellent, the bad ones are truly entertaining!

The number one spot in our countdown took the title “running away.” There was simply no way that we were going to be able to find a site worse than this. I am officially entering in it in our “Worst Website in New Jersey” contest. Come on, you can’t really be serious with this thing!

Some things just don’t require a true analysis. I especially love their dog-friendly icon. Sorry guys… it looks like it’s a family-owned business and we do love those, but you need to do better than this!

Not only is this site terrible, but I have spotted something that literally stopped me in my tracks. Almost 15 years ago, I used to take a lot of pictures in Ocean City and use for some of our clients’ websites. These guys have 2 photos on their website that I personally took, and have never shared to be used as stock photos! I recognized the photos instantly. Wow … I don’t know whether to be pissed, to be flattered, or to feel sorry for them that the best part of their site is my scrap heap from 15 years ago.

I swear we’re not picking on them … I only look at who did the work AFTER we have already selected the distinguished “winners”.
